About Scott

Scott is currently Dean of Teacher Preparation at BYU-Idaho.  He was born and raised in Northern Nevada (around Reno).  He has taught marriage and family classes for the last 10 Years.  He received his BS degree in Psychology from BYU, his MS in child and family development from the University of Georgia, and his Ph. D in marriage and family therapy from Texas Tech.  His work experience includes in-home family therapy with children and adolescents, adult male alcohol and drug treatment centers, children’s play therapy groups at a domestic abuse shelter, and private practice in Marriage and Family Therapy in South Dakota.  He also taught at South Dakota State University for 11 years and researched the effectiveness of marriage education programs for high school aged youth.  His Ph D. is in Marriage and Family Therapy.  His interests include racquetball, snow skiing, and gardening.  Most importantly, he celebrates his marriage of 29 years to his wife, Brenda.
